Made with just four ingredients, this homemade Strawberry Butter is a simple way to amp up your morning waffles, pancakes, scones, and more!
If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen my post yesterday about snatching up 10 pounds of butter that is regularly $4.49 but was on sale for only $1.99!
My Mom, a coupon master, is always encouraging me to stockpile but I just can’t seem to get on the bandwagon. We like to eat a lot of fresh produce and meat, mainly because I hate trying to remember to defrost things in time for dinner. Of course, my Mom’s solution to that is to pressure cook all-the-things, but I haven’t got on board with that yet either.
One thing we do go through quickly around here is buttah, and since it’s good for quite a while I decided to stock up when I saw the sale. I laughed at myself, as I was loading down my cart, that it doesn’t get much more “adult” than getting excited about half price butter.
I laughed even more when I saw another food blogger on Instagram do the same exact thing. Except she had just purchased (a small ton of) butter at another store, found out it was on sale cheaper somewhere else, and had to do the “butter walk of shame” to return the first lot!
I wanted to share this easy strawberry butter recipe in case you too find yourself in a sudden gold brick of butter windfall.
What’s in Strawberry Butter?
The name pretty much says it all! Here’s what you’ll need to make your own strawberry flavored butter:
- Unsalted butter
- Powdered sugar
- Strawberries
- Kosher salt
How to Make Strawberry Butter
- Beat together the butter, sugar, and salt using an electric mixer.
- Beat the strawberries in on low speed.
- Transfer to a small bowl and serve!
How Long Does Strawberry Butter Last?
If stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator, this strawberry flavored butter will last up to 10 days.
Can You Freeze Strawberry Butter?
Absolutely! To do so, shape it into a log, wrap in plastic wrap, place in an airtight container, and freeze for up to 2 months.
Tips for Making Strawberry Butter
It’s very important that your butter is room temperature when you go to make this strawberry butter recipe. If your butter is still cold, it won’t whip up properly and the powdered sugar won’t mix in fully.
I’ve only made this strawberry butter using fresh strawberries, so I can’t speak to how it’d taste with frozen strawberries. I imagine you’d need to thaw and drain the frozen berries, but the texture may not be the same.
Lastly, if you’ve ever had questions about how to measure butter, check out these tips from Let’s Eat Cake.

In the refrigerator, probably up to ten days. You can also shape it into a log, wrap in plastic wrap, place in an air tight container, and freeze for up to two months.
